I got this question in my HHH group on Facebook:

I'm in a Jack Russell group and I saw this Jack Russell sitting like this. . . I know if they start sitting certain ways it can mean that they're in pain, and I suggested it may be pain to her, but she replied, 

"No, this is normal for a Jack Russell." 

Is it?

I define toxic foods as those which contain inherent substances that act like poison in a dog’s system, because of damage to tissues, or because the dog cannot metabolize them. 

Many sites list avocados as toxic to pets, when in reality, they offer healthy fats and nutrients. Persin is the substance blamed for this, but persin is found mostly in the leaves, seeds, and bark of an avocado tree. We don’t eat those!

What is Leptospirosis?

The disease called Leptospirosis can be caused by the spirochete bacteria in the Genus Leptospira. There are 20 different species in this Genus, and more than 200 different serovars (strains) of Leptospira worldwide. 

Infected wild and domestic animals shed Leptospira in their urine. Dogs come in contact with Leptospira through contact with contaminated urine, which can collect in water (especially stagnant water), mud, soil, bedding, and food.
